The Municipal Collection of Contemporary Art is composed by historical works, donations, acquisitions and a large video section. Witnessing a time of great excitement towards Casa Masaccio, the collection features leading artists such as Mario Airò, Massimo Bartolini, Alberto Garutti, Mauro Staccioli and John Murphy.
The latest acquisitions shows proof of residencies and exhibitions that in the last ten years have characterized the institution as a reference point for contemporary art in the national and international context, supporting young artists such as Antonio Rovaldi, Marinella Senator and Maitree Siriboon. The collection is enriched by a section of works created by young artists, testifying the close link between the museum and San Giovanni Valdarno. Part of the collection is currently available in Casa Masaccio through an increased multimedia application available on mobile devices such as tablet and smartphone.
